I often hear diamond painting enthusiasts complain that diamond paintings are too expensive, especially when referring to the prices of companies that sell ONLY legally licensed art work.** Have you ever thought about how much you spend on other, perhaps more commonly known, hobbies and pastimes?

I wanted to challenge the thought that diamond painting is an expensive pastime. So, I began by polling a number of diamond painting enthusiasts on how long it would take them to complete an entire 50 x 70 cm (20” x 28”) diamond painting if they worked on it full time. The average came in at two weeks, or 80 hours. I then set off to research other popular pastimes and hobbies. Here is what I found, using average prices per person published for each activity.

Eye-opening isn’t it? As it turns out, not only is Diamond Painting NOT truly expensive, it is one of the most affordable pastimes in America when put in terms of cost per hour, or hours of enjoyment as I like to call it. Of course, we can’t help you on the addiction part of it.
